Gubbio, Italy

nips s s flyerThe Noise in Physical Systems Laboratory organized its eighth edition of NiPS Summer School dedicated to “Energy harvesting: models and applications” held in Gubbio from June 30th to July 3rd, 2017.

As a strong vector of knowledge exchange, this event welcomed graduate students, post-docs, young researchers, and all scientists interested in the physical foundations and practical applications of energy harvesting and energy transformations at micro and nanoscales. General lectures with keynote speakers but also an outlook of recent updates in technologies are presented during thematic sessions. The NIPS team presented in this three-day event some PROTEUS outcomes in the energy field such as notably an introduction to energy harvesting techniques, the vibrational advances in Piezoelectric technology and concrete examples of the project with a session on “IoT and the powering of autonomous devices (Sensor networks Autonomous sensors and actuators. Energy budget for complex devices).”

logomain micro energy 2017This event benefited from strong synergies with the colocation with the Micro Energy 2017, intalian chapter of the international conference gathering research, academia and industry worlds to present the latest developments and the new micro-energy-powered sensing and communicating applications.

PROTEUS played as well a significant role in contributing in Micro energy harvesting and Micro-energy use sessions. An extended presentation of project outputs and new perspectives for market access and fields extension.
