PROTEUS just released on May 2017 a flash study investigating the potential exploitation of project technologies in a sea water environnement. With contributions from Ecole polytechnique, IFSTTAR and Easy Global Market, this paper presents the latest trends and technological stakes on this topic.

In the context of global warming, oceans play a key role in the planet equilibrium by their capacity to regulate energy. In the loop, this earth thermostat and its hosts (Fauna, Flora, …) are meanwhile suffering from this climate change. Large scale monitoring is today slowed by sensors costs, directly depending on the required sensitivity and accuracy in sea water measurements.

On the basis of the current fresh water usecases, PROTEUS carbon nanotube technology may bring new perspectives in ocean monitoring challenges…
